Tripoli: President of Libya’s High Council of State, HE Dr. Mohammed Muftah Takala, met in Tripoli with Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation between Qatar and Libya and explored ways to further strengthen and develop relations between the two countries.
The talks also covered the latest regional developments and a number of issues of mutual interest.
HE Dr. Al Khulaifi reaffirmed Qatar’s support for Libya’s unity and stability, as well as Doha’s commitment to backing the political process and peaceful solutions that meet the aspirations of the Libyan people while preserving the country’s sovereignty.
He also stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and supporting mediation and national reconciliation efforts aimed at strengthening consensus among Libyan parties and creating conditions conducive to long-term stability.
The Qatari minister further confirmed that Qatar would continue its engagement with various Libyan parties and leaders in support of United Nations efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement in the country.
The meeting reflects Qatar’s continued diplomatic engagement with Libya and its support for dialogue-based solutions to the country’s political challenges.
